brain dump

I never realized how UGLY of a laugher (word?) I was until yesterday. Like I knew it wasn't cute, but I've seen multiple pictures recently of me laughing. Holy freak. Hate you all for not telling me.

My family used to watch American Idol. Michael Johns' season was obviously the greatest, but we stuck it out one more year for Danny Gokey's. That was the end for us. I label the seasons by who I wanted to win, not who actually won. Clay Aiken's season was our first. We LOVED Clay. When we first moved to Utah Lauren and I went to the Clay Aiken/Kelly Clarkson concert. We were among the few people there for Clay. Today I was talking to Josie about the game Solitaire and then starting singing Clay's version of Solitaire which led me to YouTube (all roads lead to YouTube) which led me to THIS. I forgot how much I LOVED it.

This has been playing over and over in the Mags house. I'm giddy. I'm seriously SOOO excited! My cousin Hayley posted a video of the 1996 US gymnasts, and it brought back so many memories. That's the first time I can remember watching the olympics. I was almost 6 and loved gymnastics. Gymnastics has been my favorite event ever since.

While I'm on a YouTube kick, here's the So You Think You Can Dance routine I talked about in my Maryland post. There's an animator, stepper and a martial artist all in the same dance. INSANE.

I've been sick this week so I started Downton Abbey. Everyone was right.

I miss Kristen. A lot.

I miss Brittany. A lot. I also miss going with her to her elementary ed classes just because I wanted to hang out with her still.

I challenge you to find a creepier photograph

Life is good. For a little while this summer I was frustrated with myself and was really discouraged. I've had to make a pretty big decision. It's been a process, but I've finally made it. I feel like I need to write about it here so I can look back on this post at times when I let myself get discouraged again. I'm happy and at peace. That's what keeps me moving forward.

Back around Easter my friend Nick painted these at FHE. The one of the left is me, naturally. The one on the right was labeled Mr. Darcy. We're quite the pair aren't we?

The results of my pencil test. Apparently I'm having lots of babies.

Sorry for the brain dump. My mind has been all over the place and I just needed to release a bit. Reading back on this, this makes me sound so scatter brained. Sorry there is no transition between any of this stuff haha.

My niece Jayne turned 3 last week. I love this little girl so much. She's growing up too fast.

My mom made her this adorable cake. You go girl.

Jaynie had a "pink party" and invited her friends to come swim at grandma's pool. It was so fun to be there with all the cute little girls. They were so excited, and it was the cutest thing.

I'm sick, so this blog post will be short so I can go to bed. I've been begging my room mate Amanda to let me go to bed. She said it was too early for me to go to sleep so I've been holding out for the past few hours. I guess only babies go to bed at 7:00 and Pearl and Terry (Lauren please comment. You know what I'm sayin. Skipped their house every Halloween)

there's no place like home

I went to Maryland a few weeks ago to visit Kaile. It was SOOOOOOOO good to be home. I hadn't been back in 4 years, and I had missed it so much!

We drove past my old house. It has a weird fence on the driveway now with a sign about children at play. They also painted the front door. The garden/grass look awful. It makes me sad.

Here's some of the trip that was documented. We did other stuff but didn't take pictures woops:

We drove by Christ Episcopal. This was the best shot I could get. I miss going to school here so much.

We went on the bumpy road. Childhood mems

We hiked the billy goat trail and went to Great Falls. It brought back so many memories.

Love me some Juliet.

One of the days Kaile had a doctors appointment and we drove past this park. This is where I used to go for PE back in the day!

One day we went to the zoo because the Baltimore Aquarium is freaking expensive to get into now. Such a disappointment. At least we had the zoo. More childhood mems even though there were no pandas or giraffes.

gorilla babiez

Bonnie hehe

The closest we got to the aquarium. I'm not bitter. I'm not bitter.

Pretty friends and zebs

Where are the pandas???

 Kaile loves prairie dogz

After our disappointment in no giraffes or pandas we were looking forward to seeing some wild cats. We get to the exhibit and this girl tells us it's closed for a private dinner thing. We named this event The Great Catsby. The Great Catsby was exclusive and we weren't here for that. We decided to sneak into the exhibit because we HAD to see our cats. When we saw the girl making her rounds we ditched that place fast. We saw our cats and I left completely satisfied.

Juliet fleeing the scene

Drove past this on the way home. Chevy Chase is SOOO cute. I wish I would have used my brain and  had taken more pictures.

We met up with James and Roy for dinna then went back to Kaile's and watched So You Think You Can Dance. The baseball dance was insaneeeeeee

Our attempted bike ride was hilarious. Squeeky/deflated wheels. We didn't make it far.

We went to DC on Friday. It was HOT but SO great.

I don't think I've ever been on this side of the White House.

This picture turned out really awkward with my camera bag. Probably should have set it down.

Slidin at the Lincoln Memorial

Love my baby friend

On our way back from DC we got caught in the worst thunderstorm I've ever been in. It was freaky. We had to pull over for a while and just wait it out. Thanks Natalie Joy. For the last two days of my trip the power was out. The Knells have a generator thankfully so we ended up being able to watch movies. It was SO hot outside and the AC wasn't working very well so we watched their edited movies in the basement. Shawshank Redemption. So good. We also went out to eat to get some AC.

This post was a jumble but whatever I am so glad I got to go home!
