My Yard is Pretty

This afternoon I was bored while waiting for my mom to come back from Costco. I wasn't in the mood to do anything too crazy because I had just finished playing basketball with my friends, so I decided to take pictures of my yard.

I love spending time in my beautiful yard!

I am going to be honest...I AM A FREAK! Lately I have been anxious all day long for several days in a row. It gets to the point where I have to scratch myself to calm down (that's probably really bad and I shouldn't admit that hahaha). Don't know what my deal is! The beautiful girl in the above picture with me is my room mate/friend Nicole. She has helped so much with my stress. She is probably one of the funniest people I know. She makes me laugh SO hard which sadly is pretty hard to do. She and I talk about everything and she makes me feel so much better about myself. I have been so grateful for her lately. She is always calming me down (half of the time she does it without even knowing I'm stressed out). She is such a good friend! I'm so glad that I decided to go summer term so I could get to know her better.

I know everything will be ok but for now I feel like a crazy person! Sorry this post is absolutely pathetic. I just needed to write out how I feel because I'm a mess. Haha! Ok, back to picking a major, finding a job, figuring out what I want to do with my life, stressing about Caleb (something that won't be resolved for a long time haha), buying groceries, studying for American Heritage, cleaning my apartment and finishing the list of ever other thing I have to do.

As part of personal progress I had to read two talks on faith. Today I read this talk and had to share! I love the message. I have major anxiety and this brings so much comfort to me and helps me feel peace, which lately has been rare. READ IT! You'll love it too!

Miss Jaynie

I am obsessed with my niece. She is adorable look at her! She just turned 1 yesterday. I can't believe how quickly her first year went by. I'm so glad that I've been able to live close to her so I could get to see her growth over the past year.

On Saturday we had a little family party for Jayne. My other pictures wouldn't load so I'll try to add them later. How freaking cute is she in these glasses??
Jayne loves black people so my mom decided to give her a black baby doll as one of her presents. We all got a good laugh out of it. When Josephine came out and saw it she went, "aw cute!!!" It was pretty great.

I love my Jaynie girl and look forward to the years to come with this chicky!

Independence Day Celebration

I don't have any pictures of the 3rd of July. I went over to a family friend's house with my cousins and enjoyed a barbecue and fireworks. I had a great time. On Sunday we had our usual Sunday dinner and then headed over to uncle Hans's for fireworks (an annual tradition).

On the 4th I was showing my family the dance that I have been OBSESSED with all week from So You Think You Can Dance (Alex and Twitch hip hop) and Jaynie was loving the dancing. This is a picture of her gazing at the tv. She's so freaking cute.

As we do every year, we went down to my brother's for breakfast and the parade. We have the best view of the parade. It's so much fun!

Here I am with my favorite Kwasi. I love that he was wearing his Ghana shirt to a 4th of July parade.

My brothers obviously love each other

With Traci and Chloe. I wish my clip was showing better. I made it on Sunday to be festive and I think it is cute. I kind of look like a little girl but whatev.

Max and I with grandma and grandpa Porter

Sometimes my cousin Josie and I are friends. Sunday night she didn't want me to go near her, but I lucked out the next day at the parade when she sat by me on the roof. She is absolutely adorable!

Josie Magleby squared were so cute with Jayne. Here's my cousin Josie hugging baby. Too cute!

I have the best family in the world. I love holidays with them!! I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July weekend.

Products of the Sweatshop

So I realized I didn't blog about my sister's wedding really. Woops, my bad. These are the dresses we made for the family dinner. I can proudly say that I contributed to the skirt of my dress haha. I got sick of sewing (I was cranky that day. I'll admit it) so I let grandma Porter finish for me.
I wore my dress for the 4th of July because it was the most patriotic dress I could find to wear to church. Lauren and Josephine decided they wanted to wear theirs too so we ended up being a cute little matching family (bleh). Just kidding it was cute I guess.
