My Little Graduate

Yep, she did it! I sat through my third consecutive Lone Peak graduation on Friday exactly one year after my big day. Yay Soph! I seriously can't believe that it has already been a year since I graduated from high school. WOW!

I love this girl and can't wait to room with her in the fall. I'm so glad I got to be there to see her graduate. I love my cousins!

One year older and wiser too...well, at least I hope so. I have changed so much over the past year it is so crazy. I felt the need to add some pictures of my graduation last year. I have better ones but they're on my parent's computer.

One of my best friends transferred schools junior year of high school. Her high school had their graduation right before ours so I got to take a picture with her!

I got to take a few pictures with my supa cute lova man before graduation. He hates this picture, but he's in Ecuador and can't stop me from posting it. If this picture is gone in 21 months you'll know why.

Personal Progress Take 2

It's been a little over a year since I completed my Personal Progress and to be honest I really didn't enjoy fulfilling the requirements. It felt like a chore and I just rushed through it all so I could put it on my college application. To make up for my dumb attitude I decided to commit to doing Personal Progress all over again with the added value of virtue. I'm really excited to do it this time and won't be a slacker with it. To remind myself I'm going to start wearing the necklace that I received when I got my award. I really hope I can accomplish this. I think it would be such a great thing for me to do. I'm trying to better myself in all aspects of my life and Personal Progress is a wonderful tool to do that. I want to try new things and figure out what I'm good at, because currently I have no idea!

In the front of the Personal Progress book it says: "Take advantage of your time in Young Women by preparing to receive the sacred ordinances of the temple, to be a faithful wife and mother, and to strengthen home and family." While in Young Women I definitely didn't take advantage of Personal Progress and I really regret it. I've decided that I will complete Personal Progress before getting married. Luckily that gives me plenty of time to finish because I will not be getting hitched for a long time! Here I go....

My Favorite Bag

My aunt Jan is the NICEST ever. When I stayed with her in Arizona I saw a bag that she had made for a girl she knows. I told her it was really cute, and she then proceeded to take me to the store to get fabric. So I made a bag with Jan on my last day in Arizona. I'm so proud of myself! Jan helped a ton and she has an awesome sewing machine! I know I couldn't have done it alone. I want to order the pattern online and make some more. It was so fun!

The inside of my bag
The finished product. I kinda love it!

Thanks so much Jan!

I Love to See the Temple

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend the Gila Valley Temple dedication while visiting my cousins in Arizona. It was more light-hearted than other temple dedications I've been to. Outside of the temple President Monson was cracking jokes with Elder Holland and President Eyring. You can tell that they are very close friends. President Monson kept talking about how his wife wasn't able to attend because she is ill. He shared the story of how they met again. I've heard it many times, but I never get sick of it. He talked about how important it is for husbands to treat their wives with respect. I really loved that. Even though I'm obviously not married, I know that respect will be a major thing that I will desire in my spouse.

There was a lot of focus placed on Spencer W. Kimball. He was from this area and always wanted a temple to be there. President Monson shared stories of his experiences with President Kimball. I loved how President Monson showed so much respect and love in the way he spoke about his dear friend. Elder Holland talked about the miracle of forgiveness and how it relates to the temple. I can't wait for next month when we get to take Josephine to the temple to be sealed to us. It's a very unique experience that I am so blessed to have.

I'm currently in Mesa, Arizona helping take care of this chickie. Her mom just got her wisdom teeth out by my uncle Brad, so Jaynie and I are having fun with...

This chick! That's right! I get to hang out with two of my favorite people at once. My cousin Sarah is freaking hilarious. We are two weeks apart and love getting together! I love having cousins my age. Sarah and I get along really well. She brings out the crazy in me, and I have so much fun with her. It's going to be an awesome weekend!

The Diaries of Monette

Those are my mom's journals. I found them today after cleaning for my mom. I snuck upstairs and read them for hours. I absolutely loved it! I have the most amazing mom ever. It's so remarkable how similar our situations have been. Most of what happened in her life just happened 30 years before they happened to me. I loved reading about her dating my dad and him leaving on his mission. She talked about what it was like while he was gone and challenges that she had to face aside from that. I even read my birth story (a different journal than the one from before my dad's mission don't worry). I was such a good journal keeper my first semester of college, then Christmas break came, and I slacked. It was such a relief first semester though. That's how I got out every emotion I was feeling. I can definitely say that freshman year of college was the hardest year of my life. It wasn't even the academics that got me down. I had to deal with a lot of different challenges. Although some of my challenges have been different than my mom's, it was such a comfort to me to read my mom's journal and know that during her freshman year of college she had challenges as well. I loved how she bore testimony of the gospel often throughout her entries. She put her faith in the Lord to overcome her difficulties. I am so glad that I pulled her journals out today. I stress about the future sometimes. Ok, that's a lie, I stress about the future ALL THE TIME! I feel so much pressure and have no idea what's going to happen or who I am going to become. I know it will come to me but for now it's such a burden. I'm thankful for my mom's example of enduring hard times of doubt and confusion. I read about my mom having to decide between two guys, one being my dad when he came home from his mission. I am so glad that she picked my dad! I loved seeing how she thought things out and solved major problems. I just love my mom!!

So I struck a deal with my cousin Sophie. I wanted someone to go on a hike with me, and no one would agree. At the same time miss Sophie wanted me to watch Vampire Diaries with her. I told her I would watch Vampire Diaries if she agreed to hike.

I have watched a bit of this

So now I get a bit of this!!

Josephine Anna Magleby

Miss thang turned 9 the other day! She is probably the funniest 9 year old girl out there. She get's her groove on on the dance floor and there is no holding back. When you give her choreography she's blowin it, but when it's freestyle, and just Josie and the music she is workin it. SO FUNNY! She is such a fun girl to have around. She's really helpful and loves to try new things. She loves to do fun things with me. She loves crafts and baking. We dance, paint our nails, watch girl movies (Aquamarine/Pollyanna) and have sleepovers! I can't wait for next month when we will be sealed to her in the temple FINALLY! She is such a joy in our home and makes everything more fun and sassy.

Flaggie flags

I was feeling crafty this morning. I was home alone and wanted to do something. I remembered how I wanted to make flags out of the extra fabric from my quilt, so I now have flags to hang in my apartment with my quilt! I'm pretty proud of myself because I didn't receive any help and my sewing skills are very limited! Woot! I thought I'd share.
I plan to add lace to the top so ignore the ribbon
